The Kairos Quartet presents the fifth installment of their ongoing Work in Progress<\/em> series, 51% \u2013 Amazing Music by Women<\/em>, this time supported by sound designer Andre Bartetzki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this fifth edition of their Work in Progress<\/em>, the Kairos Quartet curates an impressive selection of compositions by women composers. The works explore themes of physicality and tension, often expanding the ensemble with electronic elements and preparations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience the naturalistic soundscape of Bauckholt\u2019s Lichtung<\/em>, filled with bird and insect sounds; embark on a surprising journey into the inner ear with G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir\u2019s Otoconia<\/em>; enjoy the distorted sounds and reverberant spaces in Nemtsov\u2019s Weggeschliffen<\/em>, enhanced with electronics and preparations; and feel the vastness of Horizon on the High Seas<\/em> by Pagh-Paan, who celebrates her 80th birthday this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kairos Quartet navigates these sonic worlds\u2014where sound is felt as much as heard\u2014constantly in motion, teetering on the edge of tension and resolution. Their performance is characterized by a delicate sensitivity to texture, dynamic contrast, and spatial perception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the illness of our dear colleague Alexa Renger, Fiona Milla J\u00e4ntti will perform the violin part! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
